BT 'ntl cap...massively unpopular' (18 March 2003)
BT have taken note of the opposition to the ntl cap and have moved to reassure
users.
In an article disussing issues of peer to peer file sharing and downloads
of music (legal and more dubious sources), BT say:- "The move by ntl to
cap the amount of bandwidth subscribers can use has proved massively unpopular
and BT has no plans to go down the same route." Duncan Ingram, Managing
Director of BT Openworld is quoted as saying:
"In terms of capping downloads
we have no current plans to do that. We are managing our network very well"
Well done to all who have made their viewpoints known, the ISP industry
is watching.
