Our Campaign Name Choice

A new campaign and domain name is chosen: AntiCap.co.uk (11 Mar 2003)

After careful consideration, it has been decided that the campaign for unlimited use residential broadband services, should be relaunched.

The primary aim of the organisers is to target NTL:home, as the instigators of the 1GB a day download cap. It is believed that other ISPs may have similar capping aims, if NTL can make theirs stick. The existing campaign name of www.dont-pay-ntl.co.uk might, in some quarters, be seen as slightly inciteful (although if it provokes debate and reaction, all to the good).

However concern is also expressed that any new name could cause some confusion, especially as the dont-pay-ntl name has managed to establish itself so swiftly, even amongst the IT media. We have decided that the new site will be developed under its new domain name, with some links to it from the existing site. When a full launch of the new website is ready, we expect to point the old domain to the new site as a duplicated link.

The new domain name chosen is considered to reflect and clearly identify the purpose of the pressure group. By itself it states our reason for being. www.anticap.co.uk is here to stay.
